Job summary

Paycom in Grand Prairie, TX is seeking a CNC Machinist to set up and operate lathes and mills. You will become proficient with the CNC programs and ensure parts meet specifications. Responsibilities include adjusting offsets, changing tools, tearing down setups, and maintaining safe, clean work areas.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of machining experience or trade school training, with the ability to read blueprints and use calipers and micrometers to inspect parts.

Qualifications

• 1 year machining experience or trade school training.
• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.
• Must be able to utilize common machine shop measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.) to inspect and qualify machined parts accordingly.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machine tools (lathes and mills).
• Be proficient with using the network for retrieving programs.
• Keep CNC tools running and monitor parts being produced.
• Adjust offsets and locations; change inserts and cutting tools as needed.
• Tear down setups and return tooling to proper locations for next setup.
• Understand speeds, feeds, and surface call outs for machined parts.
• Maintain machine area cleanliness and proper fluid levels; follow all safety procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:The operator will be responsible for the set up and operation of various CNC machine tools, which include Lathes and Mills.The operator is required to be or become proficient with using K&N’s network for retrieving programs.The operator will be responsible for keeping the CNC machine tools running and checking the parts being run. This includes the operation of several machine tools at one time.The operator must be able to adjust offsets and locations, as well as change inserts and cutting tools, as necessary.The operator must be able to tear down setups, and return tooling to its proper location and get machine ready for next setup.The operator should have/or gain full knowledge and understanding of speeds, feeds, and surface call outs of the various machined parts.The operator will be responsible for cleanup in and around the machines, as well as maintaining proper fluid levels.The operator must adhere to and follow all K&N’s safety procedures and continuously work and operate all machinery in a safe manner.Experience, Skills & Education:1 year machining experience or trade school trainingMust be able to read and interpret blueprints.
