Job summary

Impact CNC in Indiana is seeking a skilled CNC Machine Operator to set up, run, and inspect parts for conformance to specifications. You will verify first-run parts, measure critical dimensions, maintain logs, and ensure safety and clean production areas.

Qualifications

• 0 - 2 years prior experience operating CNC machines.
• Functional and Technical Knowledge of gauging equipment, including micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, etc.

Responsibilities

• Loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into position up to 50 pounds consistently.
• Lift, position, and secure machined parts on surface plates or worktables, using hoists, vises, v-blocks, or angle plates.
• Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces; adhering to international standards.
• Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements, using calipers, micrometers, and other quality approved gauging devised; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
• Notify Supervisor immediately of any deviation or change in part, specs, or changes to safety guarding or other safety issues (slips, falls, guarding or hand tool issues, etc.).
• Listen for any sounds that may indicate a malfunction.
• Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
• Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
• Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
• Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
• Plans stock inventory by checking stock to determine amount available; anticipating needed stock; placing and expediting orders for stock; verifying receipt of stock.
• Accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, company goals, and ultimate customer satisfaction with product.

Overview

Responsibilities: Operators load materials into CNC machines to be shaped. Once the cutting operation is performed the operator inspects the fabricated part to ensure that it matches specifications. Operators are responsible for keeping records, maintaining quality and safety standards, cleaning and maintaining equipment and supplies and may operate multiple machines.
