Job summary

K&N Engineering in Grand Prairie, TX is seeking a CNC operator to set up and run lathes and mills. You will work with blueprints, use standard measuring tools, and ensure parts meet specifications.

The role requires 1 year machining experience or trade school training, plus the ability to read blueprints and interpret tolerances. You will follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, orderly work area.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machine tools (lathes and mills).
• Proficient with accessing programs via K&N’s network.
• Keep machines running and inspect parts produced.
• Adjust offsets and locations, change inserts and cutting tools as needed.
• Tear down setups and prepare tooling for next run.
• Understand speeds, feeds, and surface callouts for machined parts.
• Maintain machine area cleanliness and fluid levels.
• Follow all safety procedures and operate machinery safely.

Job Details: Job Location: Grand Prairie, TX 75050, Salary Range: $21.00 - $23.00 Hourly

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• The operator will be responsible for the set up and operation of various CNC machine tools, which include Lathes and Mills.
• The operator is required to be or become proficient with using K&N’s network for retrieving programs.
• The operator will be responsible for keeping the CNC machine tools running and checking the parts being run. This includes the operation of several machine tools at one time.
• The operator must be able to adjust offsets and locations, as well as change inserts and cutting tools, as necessary.
• The operator must be able to tear down setups, and return tooling to its proper location and get machine ready for next setup.
• The operator should have/or gain full knowledge and understanding of speeds, feeds, and surface call outs of the various machined parts.
• The operator will be responsible for cleanup in and around the machines, as well as maintaining proper fluid levels.
• The operator must adhere to and follow all K&N’s safety procedures and continuously work and operate all machinery in a safe manner.

Qualifications: Experience, Skills & Education

• 1 year machining experience or trade school training
• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.
• Must be able to utilize common machine shop measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.,) to inspect and qualify machined parts accordingly.
• Knowledge of machine shop practices a must.
• Must communicate any machining errors, and or communicate corrective actions clearly and timely.

• Must be able to follow through on all tasks and projects according to supervision and leadership.
• Must meet output expectations, or clearly define what would be needed to meet these goals.
• Must maintain good attendance.
