SUMMARY

As a Machine Operator, you will run repeat proven parts with low to intermediate complexity. You will receive direction and will be overseen by the area Lead, Supervisor, or qualified area Machinist.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Responsible for utilizing shop paper procedures including updates, signatures, and stamps, counting quantities, labeling, and non-conformance related activities.
2. Ensure an accurate router accompanies all work orders.
3. Inspect and measure parts as needed, and complete in-process inspections. For any discrepancies, notify supervision.
4. Assist Lead person as needed.
5. Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining. Alert Lead or Supervisor to any issue(s) on job or machine.
6. Meet job standard times consistently and communicate to lead or supervisor when not able to make times.
7. Clean and maintain machines, working area, tooling, and parts in optimal production condition.
8. Ensure company procedures and “best machine practices” are always followed and are in place.
9. Comply with applicable environmental, health and safety laws and regulations, Company policy, and accepted safe work practices.
10. Perform additional related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

1. 0-2 years’ experience.
2. Ability to speak basic English language.
3. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS WHILE PERFORMING THE JOB

1. Visual acuity: near acuity and accommodation are required for reading machine dial gauges, blueprints, and precision measuring instruments used in the inspection of parts.
2. Hearing ability: ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action.
3. Frequently required to stand, walk, push, reach overhead, and bend to the floor.
4. Frequently required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
5. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT OF THE JOB

1. Must be able to lift and lower 30-50 lbs.
2. High noise levels from operating machines.
3. Physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts.
4. Breathing fumes, dust, and mist.
5. Skin exposure to oils and cutting fluids.

SAFETY

1. Comply with applicable environmental, health and safety laws and regulations, Company policy, and accepted safe work practices.
2. Knowledge of Shop safety practices and use of PPE.
