Job summary

MAKS Plastics is seeking an experienced CNC Operator to set up, operate, and maintain precision CNC machinery for high-quality plastic parts. The role requires reading engineering drawings, adjusting processes, and ensuring output meets exact specifications.

Description

The CNC (Computer Numerical Control) Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining precision machine tools to produce complex plastic parts according to detailed specifications. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise, precision, and problem-solving skills to ensure high-quality manufacturing output.

Responsibilities
Machine Operation
  • Set up and operate CNC milling, turning, and machining centers
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering specifications
  • Load and unload raw materials and finished parts
  • Adjust machine settings to maintain optimal performance
  • Monitor machine operations and make real-time adjustments as needed
Quality Control
  • Perform precise measurements using micrometers, calipers, and other measuring instruments
  • Inspect parts for accuracy, quality, and conformance to specifications
  • Identify and report any manufacturing defects or inconsistencies
  • Maintain detailed logs of machine performance and part measurements
  • Ensure all produced parts meet strict quality standards
Machine Setup and Maintenance
  • Perform routine maintenance on CNC machinery
  • Clean and prepare machines for production runs
  • Change cutting tools and make necessary tool adjustments
  • Conduct basic troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical issues
  • Assist maintenance team in more complex equipment repairs
Production Planning
  • Collaborate with production supervisors to understand job requirements
  • Set up work orders and prepare machines for specific production runs
  • Optimize machining processes for efficiency and precision
  • Manage multiple production tasks simultaneously
  • Report on production progress and potential bottlenecks
Qualifications
Education and Training
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Technical certification in CNC machining or related field preferred

  • Additional certifications in CNC operation are a plus
Skills And Experience
  • 2-3 years of experience operating CNC machinery
  • Proficiency with CNC programming and G-code
  • Strong understanding of machining principles and techniques
  • Advanced mathematical and spatial reasoning skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings

Working Conditions

Able to work in a hot humid environment for extended periods of time as well as around loud noises are required.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to remain stationary with intermediate walking through out shift. Frequently lift parts weighing up to 50 pounds alone and parts more than 50 pounds with assistance, and must be able to transport these up to 20 feet. Frequently positions self to maneuver around the part when finishing. Must be able to operate the hand and air tools frequently. Must be able to work overhead using hand and air tools, lift and carry parts and dump powder boxes.
