Job summary

Qualdoc is seeking an experienced CNC Milling & Programming Machinist in Baltimore, MD for a contract-to-hire role. The candidate will manufacture precision components, program CNCs, and oversee setups on multi-axis mills with tight tolerances.

The role requires blueprint interpretation, fixture development, and routine inspection. Proficiency in SolidWorks CAM PRO and strong problem-solving skills are essential for meeting production timelines.

Qualifications

• 3+ years editing and creating CNC programs.
• 4-5 years developing production fixtures.
• Experience with multi-axis CNC milling.
• Ability to read machining blueprints.
• Experience machining aluminum, stainless steel, carbon steel.
• Strong troubleshooting and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate multi-axis CNC milling machines.
• Read blueprints, work orders and drawings.
• Machine to tolerances of ±0.002 in.
• Inspect finished parts with standard measuring equipment.
• Edit existing CNC programs and create new CNC programs.
• Develop fixtures and workholding for production parts.
• Collaborate with Production Manager on tooling and processes.
• Perform milling, turning, drilling, grinding, shaping, and hand-tool work.
• Troubleshoot machining and setup issues.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and meet production schedules.
