Job summary

Qualdoc is seeking an experienced CNC Manufacturing Programmer & Machining Specialist to join our team in Ashland, VA. This contract‑to‑hire role involves programming, setting up, and operating CNC lathes and mills to produce precision components.

Under the Shop Foreman, you will ensure parts meet strict quality and tolerance requirements, read prints, develop and edit G-code, and use calipers, micrometers, and dial bore gauges for inspection. Expect 56 hours weekly with some Saturday shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience programming and operating CNC machining equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret machining drawings and technical documentation.
• Experience with G-code programming and CNC machine setup.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain close machining tolerances.
• Experience using precision inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and dial bore gauges.
• Commitment to quality workmanship and workplace safety.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret machining prints, drawings, and production documents.
• Program, set up, and operate CNC lathes and CNC mills for diverse projects.
• Develop and edit G-code programs using multiple CNC controls.
• Machine parts to tight tolerances and inspect with precision tools.
• Maintain safe, efficient operations and dependable attendance.
• Work scheduled hours, including occasional Saturday shifts.
