Job description

Milacron is looking for a CNC Milling Machine Operator 2nd shift to join our team in Mt. Orab, OH. As a Mill Operator, you will be responsible for the set-up and operation of machinery to produce a large assortment of metal parts or finishes, often of a complex nature. In this role, you will apply knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, and machining procedures to produce quality parts for our plastics processing machinery from raw materials.

Shifts:

Must train in the morning from 7a-3p for at least 90 days, then switch to 2nd shift 3p-11p.

Work You'll Do:
  1. Verify correct product using job traveler.
  2. Set-up and operate a milling machine to blueprint specifications.
  3. Monitor machine performance and perform preventative maintenance to assure continuity of production.
  4. Maintain all fluid levels on equipment (coolant, hydraulic fluids, etc.).
  5. Monitor inventory levels and report low levels and discrepancies to supervisor.
  6. Use precision measuring tools and job-specific hand tools.
  7. Read part drawings with sectional views.
  8. Lift, position, and transport workpieces with a hoist.
  9. Accurately record labor hours into the E1 system.
  10. Maintain plant standards in safety, quality, delivery, cost, 5S, housekeeping, teamwork, and attendance.
  11. Participate in or lead problem-solving and continuous improvement efforts.
  12. Demonstrate flexibility in high-stress or emergency situations, priority changes, or new assignments.
  13. Recommend improvements for products and processes.
  14. Interact professionally with customers and employees.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Team:

Reporting to the Group Lead, this role is part of the Barrel Group manufacturing/production team.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Dependable, honest, quick learner, good communication skills, and a team player.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including any days, shifts, and weekends to meet customer demand.
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to perform and interpret computer functions.
  • Blueprint reading skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Enrolled in a technical program such as machining, welding, industrial equipment, or manufacturing engineering.
