Job summary

Ultra Machining Company (UMC) in Monticello, MN is hiring a CNC Machinist to set up and operate milling machines, ensuring parts meet exact specifications and quality standards. You’ll work closely with the quality team and engineers to troubleshoot issues and improve processes.

This role offers a Friday–Sunday schedule, onsite, with 5:00 am–5:30 pm (or 4:00 am–4:30 pm) shifts, generous PTO, benefits, 401k match, tuition reimbursement, and a strong safety culture aligned with UMC’s core values:

Qualifications

• Two-year certificate in machine trades preferred.
• 2+ years of CNC milling experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and GD&T.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting G-code/M-code.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC milling machines for all jobs, ensuring quality and efficiency.
• Troubleshoot production issues with support from Supervisors and Engineers.
• Conduct in-process inspections and document results to verify specifications.
• Assist machinists in diagnosing technical issues and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain a safe working environment and contribute to a proactive safety culture.
