Job summary

Sumitomo Electric is hiring for a CNC machining associate in a well-equipped Ohio machine shop. You will operate CNC equipment to drill, tap, mill and perform related tasks, following detailed instructions and using precision measuring tools to ensure tolerances are met. The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds and 0–2 years of experience.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines to drill, tap, mill, etc.
• Identify tooling and procedures to meet tolerances.
• Follow instructions to change or mount tools and position work pieces.
• Check work at set points and adjust for finish/tolerance.
• Use precision instruments to inspect parts and report issues.
• Report machine malfunctions and tooling difficulties.
• Assist with setups.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, tapping, milling, etc.
• Recognizing tooling and procedures where tolerances are followed
• Follow detailed instructions, work from standard coding and operational data to change or mount tools and position work pieces
• Check work at specific points; adjust machine and fixture stops to maintain finish and tolerance requirements
• Work from part drawings and use required precision measuring instruments to check and inspect work
• Recognize and report machine malfunctions, tooling difficulties, etc.
• Assist with setups

Work Environment

Well-lit, clean and temperature-controlled machine shop with moderate noise. Staff members will need to be able to work while standing, sitting, bending, and climbing. Staff members will be occasionally lifting and working inside of machines.
