Description

Under the direction of the Department Manager, the CNC Mill Machine Operator ensures the production of company products at the highest quality and at the lowest possible cost, meeting company policies and procedures. The CNC Mill Machine Operator will act in a manner that is consistent with Gordon Aluminum’s Customer 1st Philosophy.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Mounting materials or work pieces onto production equipment.
• Operate Milling CNC Machine to produce metal work pieces by way of machine control panel.
• Remove products or work pieces from production equipment.
• Inspect all finished products for accuracy and uniformity to ensure product quality and meets company standards.
• Review blueprints to determine finished work piece dimensions.
• Measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges and rules.
• Report any non-conforming or defective material immediately to a supervisor or manager.
• Communicate problems to supervisors and offer solutions.
• Accurately log direct and indirect time to data collection software.
• Clean machines, tooling, or parts, using solvents or solutions, water and rags.
• Wear common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection while adhering to all general safety policies.

In addition, all positions are responsible for:

• Performing work tasks in compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.
• Adhering to company policies, procedures, and safety directives.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience. Ability to perform basic math, read simple words, and follow instructions. Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods. Ability to work in a loud environment with safety equipment.
