Roles And Responsibilities
  • Be trained in the operation of equipment and the precision measuring tools necessary for the inspection of parts produced by each operation.
  • Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements; set stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale or rule.
  • Observe machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction.
  • Measure work piece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation.
  • Remove burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from work piece.
  • Read blueprint or job order for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instructions such as feed rate, cutting speed, depth of cut, fixtures, and cutting tools to be used.
  • Have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Verify conformance of finished work piece to specifications.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned, which may change at any time with or without notice.
Requirements
  • Successfully pass a skills-based assessment evaluating reading, math, inspections & measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • Have a high school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Possess strong organizational skills with the ability to manage changing priorities and multiple tasks.
  • Successful candidates will be enrolled in a registered apprenticeship program as part of their onboarding.
