Job description

Title:

CNC Mill Operator

Location:

Bensenville, Illinois

Note:

Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all machining equipment in the machining cell, including saws, deburring equipment, CNC mills, and CNC lathes.
2. Program CNC mills and CNC lathes using Mazatrol language, G&M codes, and MasterCam software.
3. Perform setup for jobs, including making fixtures, installing tooling, and verifying program accuracy to meet quality standards.
4. Expedite priority jobs to meet production schedules.
5. Conduct inspection checks to ensure parts are within tolerance and meet customer requirements, using appropriate inspection tools.
6. Maintain and store all cutting tools, inspection tools, and specialized equipment according to standards.
7. Optimize machining processes for efficiency and productivity.
8. Move completed jobs to the next operation within the value stream.
9. Prepare all machine-only parts for shipping.
10. Store material remnants properly in designated inventory areas.
11. Maintain reusable fixtures.
12. Inspect incoming materials visually and report quality issues to Purchasing.
13. Perform daily and weekly equipment maintenance as scheduled.

Additional Responsibilities:

1. Notify Value Stream Leads of maintenance issues and required consumables.
2. Participate in QC and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency.

Safety Responsibilities:

1. Always wear personal protective equipment in the plant.
2. Participate in safety training sessions.
3. Report unsafe conditions or behaviors.

Qualifications:

1. Experience operating CNC machining equipment.
2. Experience programming machining centers.
3. Knowledge of G and M code programming languages.
4. Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, and interpret computer programs for machines.
5. Ability to operate overhead cranes and forklifts.
6. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
