Job summary

Randstad USA seeks an experienced Class A CNC Mill Machinist to join our precision manufacturing team. You will lead complex setups, prove out new program designs, build fixtures, and machine tight-tolerance components for aerospace, defense, and medical applications.

Qualifications

• 2 years of CNC milling setup and operation experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and GD&T.
• Experience with Mastercam or Fusion 360 is a plus.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Class A CNC Mill Machinist to join our precision manufacturing team. In this role, you will lead complex setups, prove out new program designs, build custom fixtures, and machine tight-tolerance components for aerospace, defense, and medical applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Setup & Proving: Perform complex, non-standard machine setups on 3-, 4-, and 5-axis vertical and horizontal CNC milling centers. Conduct first-off program prove-outs and single-block dry runs.
• Programming & Editing: Read and write G-code/M-code manually at the control; make edits or generate toolpaths using CAM software (Mastercam / Fusion 360).
• Quality & GD&T: Interpret complex engineering blueprints with full Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T). Perform first-article inspection using CMM, height gauges, micrometers, and optical comparators.
• Troubleshooting & Optimization: Diagnose machining chatter, tool wear, dimensional drift, and fixture deformation. Optimize feeds, speeds, and cycle times.
• Mentorship: Guide and support Class B/C machinists and machine operators. We are also seeking a CNC Mill Machinist B!Experience: 2 to 5 years of CNC milling setup and operator experience.

Responsibilities

Machinist A

• Master Setup & Programming: Write and optimize G-code/CAM programs for complex 3- to 5-axis parts; build custom fixtures.
• Proving Out & Prototyping: Execute first-run prototypes, debug new programs, and prevent machine crashes.
• Advanced Quality & GD&T: Interpret complex engineering drawings/GD&T and perform CMM or first-piece inspections.
• Mentorship & Process Control: Solve difficult machining issues, reduce cycle times, and guide Level B/C operators.

Machinist B

• Standard Setup: Set up standard workholding (vises, jaws) and touch off tools using established job sheets.
• Production Execution: Run proven CNC programs, make offset adjustments, and replace worn tools.
• In-Process Inspection: Use precision instruments (micrometers, calipers, bore gauges) to keep parts within tolerance.
• Routine Care: Perform basic machine maintenance (coolant, chips) and adhere to safety standards.
