Job summary

Randstad USA is seeking an experienced CNC Setup Technician for our 1st shift operations. This dedicated setup role targets a true setup specialist, not a basic operator, in a light-hearted, low-turnover environment.

The role requires setting up 3-axis CNC milling machines for custom plastic components, verifying tooling, offsets, and reading G-code to ensure accurate paths and tight tolerances. High School education is required.

Qualifications

• 2 years CNC setup experience
• Experience with CNC milling equipment
• Proficient with G-code interpretation

Job description

We are seeking an experienced CNC Setup Technician to join our 1st shift machining operations. This is a dedicated setup role—we are looking for a true setup specialist, not a basic machine operator. Fun environment, very low turnover and we like to promote people from within. We work hard but keep it light hearted.

salary: $62,400 - $72,800 per year

shift: First

work hours: 8 AM - 4 PM

education: High School

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Machine Setup: Perform complete setup operations on 3-axis CNC milling machines for custom plastic component production.
• Tooling & Fixturing: Set up cutting tools, insert holders, load zero-point workholding/fixturing systems, and establish accurate offsets.
• Program Verification: Read, interpret, and adjust G-code at the controller to ensure proper machine operations and correct cutting paths.
• Quality & First-Piece Inspection: Perform first-piece setup inspections, check production parts to engineering drawings using standard measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.), and maintain tight dimensional tolerances.

The essential functions of this role include:

• manual lifting up to 50lbs
• standing for 8 hours at one time
