Job summary
ERMCO Inc. in Athens, GA is seeking a Metal Prep Programmer to develop and optimize CNC programs for laser cutting, brake forming, folding, and related fabrication processes.
You will translate engineering designs into efficient machine instructions and collaborate with Engineering, Planning, and Operations to drive quality and on-time production. The role requires hands-on programming expertise, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Manufacturing Technology or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- 2+ years of CNC programming experience in manufacturing.
- Experience with laser cutting systems and nesting software preferred.
- Experience with Amada, Striker, or similar programming software.
Responsibilities
- Create, maintain, and optimize CNC programs for laser cutting, brake forming, folding, and related processes.
- Develop efficient nests to maximize material utilization and reduce scrap.
- Review drawings and specs to determine manufacturing methods.
- Validate programs through testing and troubleshooting; support new product introductions.
- Maintain program libraries and revision control.
