Job summary

Openwork LLC is hiring a CNC Material Handler for the weekend night shift in Pearland, TX. The role focuses on material movement and basic first article inspection support within a machine shop.

You will perform routine inspections using basic tools, assist CNC operators, and help maintain safe, organized work areas while learning company standards and quality expectations.

Qualifications

• Must be able to follow written work instructions.
• Ability to maintain attention to detail during repetitive inspection tasks.
• Experience in industrial environments is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs daily.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine dimensional inspections of machined parts using basic measuring tools.
• Move materials and parts around the shop floor and transport raw materials to machines.
• Assist with machine support tasks such as filling coolant tanks and housekeeping around CNC equipment.
• Support operators with first article inspections and in-process quality checks; identify non-conforming parts.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas and measuring equipment.
• Document basic inspection results and alert supervisors to quality or equipment issues.
• Shadow operators to learn company standards and develop skills.

CNC Material Handler - Weekend Night Shift

Pay: $15 - $18/hr.

Summary

Openwork, formerly Meador Staffing is seeking a Material Handler who is trying to get into a proper machine shop, but may not yet have the experience or has experience that doesn’t necessarily translate immediately and are eager to start learning.

Responsibilities

• Primary duties include conducting routine dimensional inspections of machined parts using basic measuring tools.
• Moving materials and parts throughout the shop floor, transporting raw materials to machines, and relocating finished parts to inspection areas or shipping.
• Daily machine support tasks include filling coolant tanks, emptying chip hoppers, and performing basic housekeeping around CNC equipment.
• Assists operators with first article inspections, conducts in-process quality checks during production runs, and identifies non-conforming parts for quarantine.
• Additional responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness of work areas, and organizing measuring equipment.
• Documenting basic inspection results on job travelers, and alerting supervisors to quality issues or equipment problems.
• Material Handler will shadow operators to become accustomed to the company standards to better develop their skills.

Schedule

Weekend Day Shifts (Friday - Sunday)

5 PM - 5 AM (work 36 hours, but paid full 40 hours)
