Job summary

Magna Machine is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to design and optimize cutter paths, verify tool readiness, and ensure high-precision part outputs. You will work from engineering drawings to develop efficient machining strategies, set up tooling, and generate setup documents for manufacturing cells.

The role requires strong experience with NX/SolidWorks, PowerMill, and other CAM software, plus GD&T knowledge and familiarity with Fanuc/Siemens/Heidenhain controls.

Qualifications

• Broad knowledge of CNC equipment and processes.
• Understanding of ANSI Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance.
• SME CmfgE, Engineering Associates Degree, or equivalent level of related experience in job shop.
• Minimum of three years experience programming with NX, Solidworks, Autocad, Gibbs, Powermill software.
• Strong 3-dimensional visualization skills.
• Familiarity with Fanuc, Siemens, and Heidenhain CNC controls.

Responsibilities

• Reviews engineering drawings or data to determine the most efficient approach for each job.
• Models part geometry and stock from engineering drawings/electronic data.
• Develops cutter paths according to routed instructions.
• Posts programmed cutter paths to CNC machines.
• Provides optimum feed rates to operators for tooling.
• Creates setup sheets, tool lists, readouts; maintains quality files.
• Purchases special tooling as needed for tasks.
• Packages tooling and prepares documents for supervisors.
• Graphically verifies work and spot checks G-code.
• Assumes other responsibilities as assigned.
