Job summary

Southern Fabricators, Inc. in Polkton, NC is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to optimize production processes, design and refine systems including CNC programming and machining operations to support new product introductions and ongoing manufacturing demands.

You will collaborate with design, quality and production teams to ensure manufacturability, apply SPC and process improvements, and train staff on new techniques and equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline relevant to manufacturing.
• Experience programming and operating CNC machines in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong knowledge of machining, injection molding, and process layouts.
• Familiarity with SPC techniques and quality-management systems.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications; NPIs experience is a plus.
• Proficiency with CAD/CAM software and MES systems.
• Excellent project management and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop, program, and optimize CNC machining processes to improve efficiency and quality.
• Design and implement manufacturing process improvements, including layouts and workflows.
• Lead new product introduction activities with design and production teams.
• Apply SPC to monitor and control manufacturing processes and quality.
• Troubleshoot issues related to machining, injection molding, and production operations.
• Document process changes and maintain control plans to meet standards and safety rules.
• Train production staff on new manufacturing techniques and equipment.
