Job summary

BG Precision Machine is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to bridge engineering and shop-floor activities. You will turn prints into efficient machining processes for aerospace and energy parts, collaborating with machinists and quality control to drive continuous improvement on CNC operations.

The role focuses on process planning, tooling design, and first-article inspection, with opportunities to grow into senior engineering roles and participate in lean initiatives.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent hands-on experience in manufacturing/CNC shop.
• 3+ years in manufacturing, process, or industrial engineering within a machine shop or precision manufacturing setting.
• Strong understanding of CNC processes—mills, lathes, and multi-axis work—from real shop floor exposure.
• Solid blueprint reading skills with working knowledge of GD&T.
• Experience developing routings, work instructions, or standard operating procedures.
• Experience with CAM software and translating programs to machine performance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and improve manufacturing processes for CNC-machined parts, from programming through production.
• Program and develop setups for complex, precision parts serving aerospace and energy sectors.
• Review customer prints and specs to determine machining methods, tooling, and workholding.
• Create and maintain routings, work instructions, and time standards within ERP.
• Lead continuous improvement projects (lean manufacturing, cost reduction, capacity planning).
• Investigate quality issues and perform root cause analysis to implement corrective actions.
