Job summary

Wabtec is seeking a CNC Machinist Trainee to join a 9‑month training program aimed at developing you into a fully qualified machinist. You will learn to set up and operate CNC and manual machines, read blueprints, and assemble components as part of a collaborative team.

Starting pay is $29/hour with a $1 shift differential for 2nd shift hours. Availability includes 2nd shift and weekend shifts; long‑term opportunities exist within a safety‑driven, tobacco‑free environment in Fort Worth, TX.

Qualifications

• 6 months CNC Machining experience or successful completion of a 6-month CNC certificate program.
• Basic knowledge of blueprints and manufacturing instructions to produce machined parts.
• Must be able to lift material up to 40 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Must have basic computer skills.
• Must be able to pass a pre‑employment technical assessment.
• Every employee will be an in‑process inspector.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have high‑school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Must be willing to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Must be willing to work in a tobacco‑free environment.
• Be willing to take a drug test and submit to a background check.
• Be willing to submit to random drug tests.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required; visa sponsorship is not offered.

Responsibilities

• Understand and perform all functions to set up and operate CNC and manual machinery including 4-axis lathes, mills, grinders, and CMMs.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Assemble components and finished parts as required.
• Maintain quality and safety standards with attention to detail.
• Collaborate with teammates to improve manufacturing processes and support continuous improvement.
