Job summary

Wabtec Corporation in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a CNC Machinist Trainee for a 9-month program that develops you into a fully qualified machinist. You will learn setup, operation, inspection, and assembly, working with a team to improve manufacturing processes.

Entry requires 6 months CNC machining experience or completion of a 6-month CNC certificate, basic blueprint knowledge, ability to lift 40 lbs, and willingness to pass assessments and screenings.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months CNC Machining experience or completion of a 6-month CNC certificate program.
• Basic knowledge of blueprints and manufacturing instructions to produce machined parts.
• Must be able to lift material up to 40 lbs with or without accommodation.
• Must pass a pre-employment technical assessment.
• Must be willing to wear PPE and work in a tobacco-free environment.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC and manual machining equipment including 4 axis vertical lathes and other machines.
• Use standard tools and inspect parts to ensure quality.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Assemble components and prepare finished parts.
• Promote safe and efficient manufacturing processes.
