Job summary

Datwyler is seeking a Machinist B to independently set up and operate CNC lathes and mills, edit programs, and verify part quality. You will support tooling changes and process improvements while ensuring safety and on-time delivery in a high-precision manufacturing environment.

The role requires strong blueprint reading, GD&T knowledge, and the ability to troubleshoot and document inspection results, contributing to continuous improvement and maintenance of high standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years CNC machining experience.
• Experience performing complete machine setups independently.
• Experience operating CNC mills and lathes in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Independently set up CNC lathes and/or mills and related equipment.
• Review job travelers, blueprints, and process documentation to determine setup requirements.
• Load programs and verify machine readiness prior to production runs.
• Produce precision components within required tolerances and quality specs.
• Edit existing CNC programs to support production needs and tooling changes.
• Identify opportunities to improve cycle times, tool life, and machining efficiency.
• Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections.
