Job summary

Klein Tools Inc. is seeking a skilled machinist to set up and operate CNC machines, fabricate metallic and non-metallic parts, and assemble units to tight tolerances.

You will read blueprints, choose fixtures and tools, monitor cutting parameters, verify parts with micrometers and gauges, and collaborate with engineers to resolve machining problems, all while maintaining a clean, safe work environment.

Qualifications

• One year of work experience or apprenticeship is required.
• Knowledge of set up and operations of CNC machines a plus.
• Ability to weld is a plus.
• Employee required having own tools.
• Knowledge of English language.
• Employee may be required to follow other job-related instructions and perform other job-related duties as requested, subject to all applicable state and federal laws.
• Ability to understand and follow detailed oral and written instructions and procedures.
• Work with moderate supervision.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines to produce parts.
• Read blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications or sample parts to determine dimension and tolerances.
• Select, align and secure fixtures, cutting tools, attachments and materials on machines.
• Verify finished workpiece conformance using precision measuring instruments.
• Set up machines to make parts and run trial to verify settings.
• Fit and assemble parts into complete assemblies using jigs, fixtures and tools.
• Verify dimensions and alignments using micrometers, height gauges and gauge blocks.
• Operate welding equipment to cut or weld parts as required.
• Collaborate with engineers and production personnel to resolve machining issues.
• Communicate with co-workers to receive instructions and coordinate activities.
• Inspect and measure parts to maintain SPC charts and keep area clean.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
