Job summary

Klein Tools in Mansfield, TX is seeking a CNC Machinist to set up, operate and adjust multi‑axis CNC milling/grinding/lathe equipment, read blueprints, review work orders, and ensure part quality throughout production.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting machine issues, performing tool changes and offsets, maintaining logs, performing routine maintenance, and supporting lean manufacturing initiatives while working Friday–Sunday, 5am–5pm.

Qualifications

• Three years of related CNC/machining experience required.
• HS diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with CNC milling, grinding, or injection molding preferred.
• English literacy: reading, writing and speaking.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret work orders.
• Ability to perform basic math and computer skills.
• Teamwork and problem-solving abilities.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Run production jobs on multi-axis CNC milling/grinding/lathe and other equipment to produce quality parts.
• Inspect product during production using caliper, micrometer, laser Keyence, profilometer, and gauges; record findings in log.
• Read work orders and blueprints to verify specifications and BOM accuracy.
• Adjust machine offsets, feed, speed, and axis points to maintain tolerance.
• Troubleshoot machine issues and replace or sharpen tooling as needed.
• Set up machines including changing fixtures and loading programs.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and monitor oil/coolant levels.
• Document production counts, scrap, and hours; adhere to 6S and lean initiatives.
• Cross-train on different machines and areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
