Job summary

Amentum seeks a Machinist to support the PIF of the C5ISR Center at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD. You will set up and operate CNC machines, work from engineering drawings, and ensure dimensional accuracy using precision instruments in a prototype development shop.

The role requires a four-year apprenticeship with journeyman experience or eight years as a Journeyman Machinist, High School diploma, and the ability to obtain an Active Secret Clearance.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma.
• Must have completed a four year apprenticeship and have Journeyman Machinist experience or eight years as Journeyman Machinist.
• Experience with CNC machines.
• Knowledge of CAM operation.
• Ability to obtain an Active Secret US Government Clearance; US Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate a full range of machine tools in a prototype development shop.
• Work from engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Maintain dimensional accuracy with precision measuring instruments.
• Fabricate mechanisms, models and instruments to meet engineering requirements.
• Determine tools, dies and fixtures and set up CNC machines.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
