Responsibilities

• Receive work assignment; secure drawings, set-up sketch, programs, and tool list
• Use crane and lifting devices to place workpiece on machine table and align with fixtures
• Install program and tools; adjust coolant; observe operation and check dimensions
• Report program errors or malfunctions; edit programs as needed
• Set and check tool settings for proper cutting dimensions
• Maintain fixtures and tool records; store tools properly
• Perform simple layout work and close machining operations on various parts
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow quality procedures
