Qualifications

• Reads blueprints, planning sheets, sketches to determine tooling and setup procedures.
• Mounts, aligns, and secures tooling and work pieces on the machine.
• Selects and installs cutting tools in machine spindle.
• Enters commands or adjusts machine controls to correct malfunctions.
• Operates forklift (if licensed) and maintains work area.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines to perform cutting, drilling, milling, reaming, boring, tapping.
• Interpret blueprints and specs to determine tooling requirements and machining sequences.
• Monitor machine displays and adjust speeds/feeds and coolant flow as needed.
• Inspect parts for conformance using precision measuring instruments.
• Maintain clean and organized work area; perform basic maintenance as required.
