Job summary

STARC Systems, Inc. is seeking a Machine Operator to set up and operate CNC milling machines and related equipment on a second shift. The role emphasizes precision parts, adherence to specs, and safe, organized shop floor practices.

The ideal candidate has CNC experience, reads engineering drawings, and can maintain quality through process control. The position offers a competitive hourly wage with shift differential and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent preferred; combination of relevant education and experience considered.
• 1+ year of CNC milling setup, operation, tooling, and machining parameters is required; CNC programming experience or training is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, production prints, and shop floor work instructions.
• Basic math skills and proficiency with precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
• Experience with hand and power tools and general manufacturing equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interpret specifications, prints, and work instructions to set up and operate equipment accurately.
• Set up and operate CNC vertical milling machines, saws, drill presses, and other production machinery per the plan.
• Perform secondary machining and operations to prepare components for assembly.
• Monitor machine performance and adjust feeds, speeds, and tooling to maintain quality.
• Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, and basic troubleshooting; report issues.
