Job summary

Gyro Stabilized Systems, LLC in Grass Valley, CA is seeking a CNC machine operator to set up and run CNC centers and lathes, producing precision parts to blueprints. You will operate both CNC and manual equipment and monitor performance to maintain quality and throughput.

Candidates need at least 2 years of CNC experience, proficiency with GD&T, and the ability to read drawings. Familiarity with Fusion 360 and Haas controls is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience operating and maintaining CNC equipment; programming skills are a plus.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively in a professional manner.
• Over 2 years of experience setting up and operating manual machines, including lathes, mills, saws, and drills.
• Strong knowledge of tooling, feeds and speeds, and GD&T for various metals and alloys.
• Extensive experience using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
• Proficiency with Fusion 360, and knowledge of Haas controls are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up CNC machine centers and/or lathes and operate CNC and manual machines to produce high-quality parts.
• Monitor machines during operation to ensure proper functionality and prevent malfunctions.
• Use precision measuring instruments to verify part accuracy.
• Identify the appropriate setup and tooling required for machining specific parts.
• Fabricate component parts to meet engineering and blueprint specifications.
• Continuously observe machining processes to ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Set up and operate auxiliary equipment to support machining operations.
• Machine metal components to desired specifications using both CNC and manual techniques.
