Job summary

UMC is seeking a CNC Machinist to operate, setup, and inspect machines in a safety‑focused environment. You will support production goals and uphold our values of Great People, Going Beyond, and Growing.

You’ll independently set up jobs, run high quality operations, document measurements, and log machine data. The role offers day, night, and weekend shifts with a generous benefits package including PTO and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Machining or related field or work experience in place of education.
• 2+ years' experience as a machinist.
• Previous experience working with CMM and VCMM

Responsibilities

• Set up machines independently; seek help for advanced setups as needed.
• Operate machines and inspect parts to meet specifications through inspections and documentation.
• Proactively recommend process improvements with Engineering and Senior Machinists.
• Assist in troubleshooting with Supervisors, Engineers, and Senior Machinists.
• Maintain written logs at each machine with setup notes for shifts.
• Perform in-process and first-piece inspections per plans.
• Perform total productive maintenance on assigned machines.
• Train other machinists on job functions and controls.
• Promote a safe working environment and report hazards promptly.
