Job summary

Thorlabs is seeking a CNC Machinist for the Newton, NJ area to set up and operate vertical and horizontal CNC milling machines (3 & 4 axis). The role requires experience with Haas and Fanuc controls, programming knowledge (G codes/M codes), and the ability to read blueprints and GD&T.

Minimum 4 years in a similar position, with CNC certification or trade school a major plus. Hours are 3:45pm–12:15am, with shift differential and a $5,000 sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of experience in a similar CNC position with programming training.
• CNC certification or trade school is a major plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Lean principles knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Performs set ups on vertical and horizontal CNC milling machines (3 & 4 axis).
• Operates Haas and Fanuc controls and reads blueprints with GD&T.
• Programs and operates machines with an understanding of G/M codes.
• Maintains measuring tools and fixtures and ensures tolerances are met.
• Maintains safe, clean, and orderly work areas and complies with company policy.
