Job summary

AllSearch Professional Staffing is seeking a skilled Machinist for a plastics manufacturing company in Chaska, MN. You will set up and operate manual and CNC tools, interpret engineering drawings, and manufacture precision plastic components to tight tolerances in a fast-paced environment.

You will program CNC mills and lathes with Mastercam, manage toolings and fixtures, verify quality with calipers and indicators, and collaborate with SAP for production transactions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Experience operating manual and CNC machine tools including mills, lathes, grinders, and 5-axis equipment.
• Knowledge of machining operations, cutting tools, tool selection, setup, and precision machining.
• Knowledge of G-code and M-code programming.
• Experience using Mastercam for CNC programming.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment including calipers and indicators.
• Experience working with SAP or other manufacturing ERP systems.
• Ability to work onsite in Chaska, MN.

Responsibilities

• Download and interpret blueprints and specs to determine machining requirements.
• Set up and operate manual and CNC machine tools (mills, lathes, grinders, 5-axis equipment).
• Install tools, fixtures, and workholding devices for CNC operations.
• Program CNC mills and lathes using Mastercam and transfer programs to production equipment.
• Communicate setup parameters, offsets, tooling, and CNC settings to operators.
• Process production work orders and inventory transactions in SAP.
• Perform preventive maintenance and routine equipment upkeep.
• Inspect finished parts with calipers and indicators for tolerance.
• Identify machining or quality issues and escalate as needed.
• Complete production reports and quality documentation.
• Participate in 6S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement.
