Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a CNC Machinist for the Materials Labs in Hawthorne, CA. You will operate CNC mills/lathe, wire EDM, and support lab machining for tensile/fracture tests and fixture work. You will read drawings, perform inspections, and help maintain production equipment.

This role requires overtime readiness and physical ability to lift 30–50 lbs, with shifts 1st or 2nd. Responsibilities include tooling and fixture work, collaboration across teams, and applying precision measurement tools.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret engineering drawings with GD&T symbols and notes.
• Experience running CNC vertical milling centers, turning centers or wire EDM.
• Willing to work overtime and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC mill, lathe, wire EDM, and support equipment.
• Machining metallic test specimens for lab testing and fixture work.
• Inspect and rework parts to meet drawings and specs.
• Read prints and interpret tolerances and flags.
• Assist in maintenance and repair of production machinery.
