Job summary

SpaceX’s Hawthorne facility seeks a CNC Machinist (Materials Lab) to operate CNC mills, lathes, and wire EDM while supporting mechanical test specimen fabrication. Read drawings, interpret GD&T, and assist with maintenance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience running CNC vertical milling centers, CNC turning centers or wire EDM.
• Must be able to read engineering drawings and interpret GD&T symbols.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of machine shop equipment including CNC mills, lathes, wire EDM, waterjet and more.
• Support mechanical test lab with machining for tensile/fracture specimens and fixture work.
• Perform product inspection and rework as needed.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings with GD&T.
• Assist in maintenance and repair of production machinery.
