Job summary

DRT Holdings, LLC in Connecticut seeks a skilled CNC Milling Machinist to set up and operate HMCs and VMCs, read blueprints, and produce aerospace components to tight tolerances.

You will work with Engineering and Quality to ensure on-time delivery, maintain tooling, perform in-process inspections, and contribute to continuous improvement in a high-precision manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years CNC machining in a precision environment.
Hands-on setup and operation of CNC Milling Machines (HMCs & VMCs).
Ability to read blueprints, GD&T, and spec documents.
Experience with tooling, fixturing and precision inspection gear.
Attention to detail and teamwork in a quality-focused setting.
Independent work style with collaboration in a team.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC Milling Machines (HMCs/VMCs).
Perform machine setups, tooling changes, and first-piece inspections.
Interpret blueprints and GD&T to ensure spec compliance.

3rd Shift | Sunday - Thursday | 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM

What You'll Do

Set up and operate CNC Milling Machines, including Horizontal Machining Centers (HMCs) and Vertical Machining Centers (VMCs)
Perform machine setups, tooling changes, work offset adjustments, and first-piece inspections
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, GD&T, and manufacturing specifications
Manufacture precision aerospace components to tight tolerances and exacting quality requirements
Conduct in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, indicators, and other precision measuring instruments
Make tooling and program adjustments to maintain quality, efficiency, and production targets
Troubleshoot machining and tooling issues and implement effective corrective actions
Monitor tool life and identify opportunities to improve machining processes and cycle times
Complete production, inspection, and quality documentation accurately
Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to ensure customer satisfaction and on-time delivery
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of CNC machining experience in a precision manufacturing environment
Hands‑on experience setting up and operating CNC Milling Machines, including HMCs and VMCs
Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical specifications
Experience with tooling selection, fixture setup, and precision inspection equipment
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Fanuc, Haas, Mazatrol, Okuma, Makino, Mori Seiki, or similar control systems
Multi‑axis machining experience (4‑axis and/or 5‑axis)
CNC programming and G‑code editing experience
Experience with CAM software
Technical machining education, trade school, or apprenticeship training
