Job summary

DRT Aerospace is seeking skilled CNC Machinists to join our Sidney, OH team. You will independently set up, operate, and inspect CNC Lathes, HMCs, and VMCs to produce precision aerospace components.

Candidate should read blueprints and GD&T, use precision measuring tools, and adjust tooling to maintain tight tolerances. Overtime available and a focus on quality and safety.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of CNC machining experience.
• Experience setting up and operating CNC Lathes, HMCs, and/or VMCs.
• Ability to read blueprints and GD&T.
• Proficiency with precision measuring equipment.
• Strong understanding of tooling, speeds, feeds, and machining processes.
• Ability to hold tight tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC Lathes, HMCs, and VMCs.
• Perform tooling changes, offsets, machine setups, and first-piece inspections.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and GD&T requirements.
• Manufacture precision aerospace components to tight tolerances.
• Perform in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, indicators.
• Adjust tooling and machining parameters to maintain quality and productivity.
• Troubleshoot machining and quality issues independently.
• Monitor tooling performance and identify process improvements.
• Complete production and inspection documentation accurately.
• Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Production teams.

Join DRT Aerospace and put your machining skills to work producing precision aerospace components used in critical applications around the world. We are seeking experienced CNC Machinists who can independently set up, operate, inspect, and troubleshoot CNC machining operations in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment.

If you have experience with CNC lathes, horizontal machining centers (HMCs), vertical machining centers (VMCs), and precision inspection tools, we'd like to hear from you.

What You'll Do

• Set up and operate CNC Lathes, HMCs, and VMCs

Minimum Qualifications

• 3+ years of CNC machining experience
• Experience setting up and operating CNC Lathes, HMCs, and/or VMCs
• Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T
• Proficiency with precision measuring equipment
• Strong understanding of tooling, speeds, feeds, and machining processes
• Ability to hold tight tolerances
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• Commitment to quality, safety, and attendance

Preferred Qualifications

• Aerospace, defense, medical, or precision manufacturing experience
• Experience with Fanuc, Haas, Mazatrol, Okuma, Makino, Mori Seiki, or similar controls
• Multi-axis machining experience (4-axis and 5-axis)
• CNC programming or G-Code editing experience
• AS9100 manufacturing experience
• CAM software experience
• Technical training, apprenticeship, or machining certification
