Job summary

Tom Trese Networking LLC is seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist for a direct-hire role with our manufacturing client. The ideal candidate has at least five years of CNC setup experience and can independently set up and operate CNC lathe equipment, including Nakamura machines.

You will read blueprints, select tooling, determine feeds and speeds, perform first-piece and in-process inspections, troubleshoot issues, and support operators in the Lathe Department.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of CNC machine setup experience.
• Able to read blueprints and manufacturing instructions.
• Experience with Nakamura equipment strongly preferred.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Understanding of Lean Enterprise principles and tools.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathe equipment, including Nakamura machines.
• Work independently from blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
• Select, change, and set all required tooling.
• Determine and adjust appropriate feeds and speeds.
• Perform first-piece and in-process inspections.
• Properly use and understand measuring and gauging equipment.
• Ensure the quality of all products produced on assigned machines.
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and production issues.
• Train and monitor operators within the department.
• Perform required 5S activities and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Conduct line walks in the lathe area as directed by the supervisor.
• Follow all company safety policies and promptly report unsafe conditions or practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
