Job summary

Job Juncture is seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist in the United States Connecticut area. The role requires a minimum of five years of CNC machine setup experience and the ability to independently set up and operate CNC lathes, including Nakamura machines.

Responsibilities include interpreting blueprints, selecting tooling, setting feeds and speeds, inspecting parts, and supporting operators within the CNC Lathe Department. A strong emphasis on lean practices and safety is noted.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of CNC machine setup experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and manufacturing instructions.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with Nakamura equipment strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of machining feeds and speeds.

Job description

Our manufacturing client is seeking an experienced and dependable CNC Lathe Machinist. This direct-hire position requires at least five years of CNC machine setup experience and the ability to independently set up and operate CNC lathe equipment, including Nakamura machines.

The ideal candidate can interpret technical drawings and work instructions, select and set tooling, perform inspections, troubleshoot machining issues, and support operators within the CNC Lathe Department.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathe equipment, including Nakamura machines.
• Work independently from blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
• Select, change, and set all required tooling.
• Determine and adjust appropriate feeds and speeds.
• Perform first-piece and in-process inspections.
• Properly use and understand measuring and gauging equipment.
• Ensure the quality of all products produced on assigned machines.
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and production issues.
• Train and monitor operators within the department.
• Perform required 5S activities and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Conduct line walks in the lathe area as directed by the supervisor.
• Follow all company safety policies and promptly report unsafe conditions or practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of CNC machine setup experience.
• Demonstrated CNC lathe setup and operating experience.
• Experience with Nakamura equipment is strongly preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and manufacturing instructions.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of machining feeds and speeds.
• Proficiency with inspection tools, measuring instruments, and gauges.
• Ability to work independently while supporting department operators.
