Responsibilities

  • Operate a CNC Lathe Machine and perform precision work.

  • Follow operations sheets and instructions for product specifications.
  • Inspect finished parts and perform necessary adjustments.
  • Document production and inspection procedures as required.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and monitor equipment.

Salary Range: $26.10 To $37.00 Annually

Job Position Summary:You will be responsible to set up and run parts, and then inspect your work and if needed make adjustments to produce a quality part.

You must have:

  • A high School Diploma or Equivalent. Tech School preferred.
  • 3+ yrs Experience operating a CNC Lathe Machine
  • Experience in the Aerospace industry.
  • Basic computer skills
  • The ability to use inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, indicators.
  • The ability to set tools and enter offsets into Machine Control.
  • The ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and company operation sheets.
  • The ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally.
  • The ability to follow set up instructions, set up, and operate machine controls.
  • The ability to Troubleshoot machines.
  • The ability to follow set up instructions including setting up boring jaws, mounting face plates with fixturing.
  • Skilled in performing precision work on parts that present complex configurations and close tolerance between interrelated surfaces
  • The ability to work overtime, including weekends

In your role, you will:

  • Follow Safety culture and wear PPE when required.
  • Operate a CNC Lathe Machine.
  • Perform precision work on parts with close tolerance between interrelated surfaces.
  • Follows Ops sheets and written or verbal instructions for product specifications.
  • Operate within AS9100/ISO9001 requirements to include proper documentation.
  • Observes overall operation and performs regular daily maintenance on equipment and work area.
  • Verify and visually inspected your work and dimensions per operations sheet to specification.
  • Fill out production paperwork and inspection procedures as required.
  • Maintain specifications by trouble shooting processes; adjusting controls; replacing worn tools, observing tooling; taking measurements; detecting malfunction.
  • Maintain a clean organized work area.

Working Conditions:

  • Normal Production environments, subject to high noise levels from operating machines; physical hazards from moving equipment and sharp machine parts; breathing fumes, dust, and mist; skin exposure to oil and cutting fluid; exposure to sharp metal edges, and forklifts.
  • May be asked to travel back and forth between Southwick and Westfield facilities.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must have ability to read applicable customer documents with or without corrective lenses.
  • May have to lift up to thirty (30) pounds at a time, as required.
  • Must be able to push, pull, reach overhead, stand, walk, climb stairs, bend and/or sit for long periods of time.
