Job summary

Kinetic Engine Systems seeks a skilled CNC Machinist – Lathe in Westfield, MA. The role entails setting up and running parts, inspecting with precision tools, and adjusting processes to ensure quality under AS9100/ISO9001 standards.

Candidates should have 3+ years on CNC lathes, aerospace experience, and the ability to read blueprints, enter offsets, and troubleshoot machines. Overtime and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• A high School Diploma or Equivalent. Tech School preferred.
• 3+ yrs Experience operating a CNC Lathe Machine.
• Experience in the Aerospace industry.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to use inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, indicators.
• Ability to set tools and enter offsets into Machine Control.
• Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints.
• Ability to communicate both written and verbal.
• Ability to follow set up instructions, set up, and operate machine controls.
• Ability to Troubleshoot machines.
• Ability to follow set up instructions including setting up boring jaws, mounting face plates with fixturing.
• Skilled in performing precision work on parts that present complex configurations and close tolerance.
• Ability to work overtime, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Follow Safety culture and wear PPE when required.
• Operate a CNC Lathe Machine.
• Perform precision work on parts with close tolerance between interrelated surfaces.
• Follows Ops sheets and written or verbal instructions for product specifications.
• Operate within AS9100/ISO9001 requirements to include proper documentation.
• Observes overall operation and performs regular daily maintenance on equipment and work area.
• Verify and visually inspected your work and dimensions per operations sheet to specification.
• Fill out production paperwork and inspection procedures as required.
• Maintain specifications by trouble shooting processes; adjusting controls; replacing worn tools, observing tooling; taking measurements; detecting malfunction.
• Maintain a clean organized work area.

CNC Machinist - Lathe

Full Time Direct Westfield, MA, US

Salary Range: $26.10 To $37.00 Annually

Job Position Summary:You will be responsible to set up and run parts, and then inspect your work and if needed make adjustments to produce a quality part.

You must have:

Working Conditions:

• Normal Production environments, subject to high noise levels from operating machines; physical hazards from moving equipment and sharp machine parts; breathing fumes, dust, and mist; skin exposure to oil and cutting fluid; exposure to sharp metal edges, and forklifts.
• May be asked to travel back and forth between Southwick and Westfield facilities.

Physical Requirements:

• Must have ability to read applicable customer documents with or without corrective lenses.
• May have to lift up to thirty (30) pounds at a time, as required.
• Must be able to push, pull, reach overhead, stand, walk, climb stairs, bend and/or sit for long periods of time.
