Job summary

BAE Systems is seeking a CNC Machinist III for our Aiken, SC facility. You will operate, program, and set up complex machines to produce parts with extremely tight tolerances, such as gun barrels, using Fanuc, Siemens and G&L controls.

The role requires precision, mathematical aptitude, and adherence to safety standards. You will mentor fellow machinists, support manufacturing engineering, and ensure quality through careful inspection and documentation.

Qualifications

• Must have HS or GED with 5+ years' CNC experience on Fanuc, Siemens, KT and G&L controls.
• Ability to read blueprints and perform GD&T.
• Experience with CNC programming using G-code/M-code.

Responsibilities

• Machine from process sheets and drawings to tight tolerances using precision tools.
• Perform complex setups and alignments for high-precision parts.
• Maintain and clean equipment, and ensure safety and housekeeping.
• Train other machinists and collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering.
