Job summary

Emerson in Aiken, SC is seeking a Machinist II to operate and maintain precision CNC machinery in the Fabrication department. You will read blueprints and GD&T, verify revisions, perform dimensional inspections, and set up and run multiple machines while maintaining safety and quality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year CNC machining experience at Machinist I level or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and process documentation.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment and performing machining calculations.
• Working knowledge of CNC machine setup and operation.
• Ability to perform routine offset adjustments and basic feed and speed modifications.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety policies and stop work for unsafe conditions.
• Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, routers, and process docs.
• Verify revision levels and ensure compliance with drawings and docs.
• Perform dimensional inspections and machine/offset adjustments.
• Set up and operate CNC machining processes to meet safety and production goals.
• Perform tool changes, offsets, program verification, and first-piece validation.
• Install and touch off tooling as required.
• Adjust work offsets to maintain quality and process stability.
• Recover machines from tooling issues while maintaining production.
• Load/unload materials to support production."

• Identify and disposition nonconforming material and scrap.
