Eaton’s IS AER FMC division in Irvine, CA is hiring a CNC Machinist III for 2nd shift (hours 2pm–10:30pm). Hourly rate is $34.00, with a variable incentive program.

The role requires setting up and operating CNC lathes/mills, reading drawings, and ensuring dimensional accuracy per part instructions. The candidate will inspect work, document results, and rotate among machines as needed, with Lean initiatives and 5S housekeeping integral to the job.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• Minimum five (5) years’ machinist experience.
• Lathe experience on 2-3 axis required.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T.
• No relocation benefit; within 50-mile radius of Irvine.
• Access to export-controlled information requires being a U.S. person.

This role is a 2nd shift position, with core hours between 2pm - 10:30pm Monday - Friday.The hourly rate for this position is $34.00 per hour.This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.What you’ll do:Eaton’s Aerospace Group is currently recruiting for a Machinist III to set-up, adjust and operate a variety of machine tools such as engine lathes, mills, CNC Machine, CNC Lathes, drill presses and deburr experience.Perform operations such as drilling, tapping, reaming, and boring on a variety of work requiring a degree of skill while ensuring dimensional accuracy is maintainedCreate setups and operate CNC machine to a specific program as per part number and work instruction sheet via utilization of DNC (direct numerical control) link on computerWork from drawings and specifications using a variety of prevision measuring instrumentsRead and interoperate engineering drawings and have an understanding of Geometric ToleranceWork under general supervision; work is subject to progress and final inspection• Inspect work after completed as well as complete all appropriate inspection paperwork• Skilled on both lathes and Mill/Turn 5-Axis• Rotate to various types of machines in order to be competent in their operation• Perform Lean Initiatives including Continuous Improvement• The employee may be required to work beyond normal working hours from time to time as the workload dictates• Comply with all safety requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment in a safe and competent manner. Understand and meet all departmental safety objectives and goals.
