Job summary

Eaton’s IS AER FMC division in Irvine, CA is hiring a CNC Machining Team Lead for 1st shift. The role leads CNC Machinists, drives process improvements, and ensures product conformance to specifications.

You will interpret blueprints, set up and operate machines, enforce safety, and train staff while coordinating with production planning to meet schedules and optimize efficiency.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 5 years reading machining and engineering prints.
  • 5+ years of manual and/or CNC setup experience and fixture installation.
  • Must reside within 50 miles of Irvine, CA; export-controlled information access.
  • Machinist II accreditation via internal assessment (internal applicants).
  • Familiar with SAP, MS Word, Excel and e-mail; LEAN tools familiarity.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate activities of the CNC department and its machinists.
  • Inspect products for conformance to specifications; direct machine setup.
  • Set up and operate machines; follow processes and enforce safety rules.
  • Interpret blueprints/specifications; assign duties and monitor progress.
  • Recommend production improvements and analyze/work problems.
  • Schedule work per production planning; train employees on methods.

Eaton’s IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a CNC Machining Team Lead 1st Shift to join our team in Irvine, CA! The hourly rate for this position is $38 per hour. This role is eligible for a variable incentive pay plan.The core hours are 5:30 am - 2:00 pm. Overtime may exceed these hours and be mandatory at times.Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.What you’ll do:A front-line leader of our CNC department will lead and coordinate activities of CNC Machinists. Responsible for developing and improving the precision machining, manufacturing processes, and department personnel by providing leadership and accountability for all department matters.Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines.Set-up and operate machines as needed.Follows manufacturing processes and ensures employees do the same.Interprets company policies to employees and enforces OSHA, EPA, DNR, and other agency safety regulations.Carries out emergency evacuation and contingency plans for designated plants(s).Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to employees, and assigns duties.Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.Analyzes and resolves work problems or assist in solving.Schedules work for machine and employees per the direction from production planning and monitors progress.Trains employeesQualifications:Required Qualifications:Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.Minimum of 5 years of reading machining and engineering printsMinimum of 5 years of manual and/or CNC machine setup experience and fixture installation.This position requires access to export-controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must be a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158.Must reside within 50 miles of Irvine, CA.
