Job summary

Progress Rail in Winston Salem, NC is seeking a Machinist II to set up and operate CNC machines, load materials, and inspect finished parts for the mining and locomotive industry. You will follow blueprints, use precision gauges, and maintain equipment to ensure quality and efficiency.

The role covers second or third shift with a climate-controlled, well-equipped shop. Requires HS diploma or GED and 1–2 years of machining experience or technical training.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Skill Level II with 1-2 years' experience or technical degree.
• Reading blueprints and interpreting drawings is essential.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines to produce parts per specs and checklists.
• Set up equipment, load materials, and monitor efficiency.
• Use precision gauges to ensure part specifications are met.
• Maintain machines, troubleshoot, and adjust controls as needed.
• Operate overhead cranes and forklifts as required.
• Adhere to safety policies and quality assurance procedures.
