Job summary

IMI plc is seeking a Machinist II in Rockford, IL to set up and operate CNC and conventional work centers for pneumatic cylinder components. The role follows work orders and blueprints, working in an RSS cell on a first shift with 4x10s and occasional overtime.

Pay ranges from $22 to $24 per hour, with pay determined by skills and experience. The position is onsite in Rockford, IL, with competitive benefits and growth opportunities within IMI’s inclusive culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year CNC machining experience and/or 4 years manual machining experience.
• Proficient in the use of cutting tools and measuring instruments
• Read and understand blueprint drawings

Responsibilities

• Works at primary CNC work center to meet production scheduling requirements.
• Install and adjust tooling in work centers.
• Insert CNC programs into machines.
• Position raw materials and load into fixtures.
• Analyze and adjust tooling programs for first pieces.
• Operate centers for turning, drilling and tapping operations.
• Monitor machine cycles and handle load/unload.
• Inspect parts for dimensions and surface quality.
• Troubleshoot machining issues with supervision when needed.
• Prepare paperwork and document completed work.
• Perform preventive maintenance as required.
