Job summary

Lafferty Equipment Manufacturing, Inc. is seeking an entry-level CNC Machinist I to assist in setup and operation of CNC lathes and mills. You will learn to read blueprints, measure parts, and support production efficiency while building foundational machining skills.

The role emphasizes quality, safety, and teamwork in a fast-paced production environment, with opportunities to advance as you gain experience and skills in Haas and related systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred with 1–2 years CNC machining experience.
• Ability to read and interpret simple blueprints and work instructions.
• Must read/write/communicate in English and maintain safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist setup and operation of CNC lathes and mills for turning, boring, threading, and facing.
• Load and secure raw materials into machines using fixtures and clamps.
• Follow machining instructions and safety procedures to ensure accuracy.
• Measure parts with micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify specs.
• Monitor machine performance and report issues to lead or process engineer.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and perform basic PM tasks.
• Assist with basic preventive maintenance and housekeeping.
• Adhere to safety and quality policies and report unsafe conditions.
