Job summary

Carbon by Design is seeking a skilled machinist to support the machine shop team. You will work closely with the Programmer and Engineers to ensure parts and assemblies meet company standards, performing tool selections, set-ups, and in-process checks.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, operating HAAS machines, and maintaining quality records while identifying improvements to reduce variation. Willingness to work overtime and stand for long periods is required.

Qualifications

U.S. Person status required due to export control.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Understanding of tool clearances, fixture offsets and cutting tool offsets.
Experience with HAAS machines.
Able to work in a loud environment.
Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and management.
Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and quality requirements.
Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Acrobat).
Willingness to work periodic overtime and weekends.
Capable of standing for extended periods.

Responsibilities

Complete set-ups without the need for assistance.
Analyze job orders, drawings, blueprints, specifications, and design data to determine tool selection, speeds, and feeds.
Responsible for all phases of part operation including setup to achieve first article acceptance.
Perform in-process quality inspection and maintain records.
Identify and recommend process improvements to reduce part quality variation.
Input data into visual management forms and convey results to management.
Continuously improve processes, procedures, and eliminate waste.
Participate in internal training as needed to perform duties.
Other duties as assigned.
