Job summary

Scot Forge is seeking skilled CNC Machinists to join our 2nd shift manufacturing team in Spring Grove, Illinois. You will work with CNC mills, lathes, and saws to machine large forged components used in aerospace, defense, energy, and industrial markets.

You will read blueprints, load tooling, inspect parts with precision instruments, and operate with overhead cranes. We offer an ESOP, profit sharing, tuition reimbursement, and a comprehensive benefits package on a 2nd shift schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Manufacturing, machining, production, or industrial experience.
• Basic shop math and computer skills.
• Experience using hand tools and tape measures.
• Experience using measuring equipment such as micrometers and calipers.
• Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and saws.
• Monitor machining operations and make adjustments to maintain quality and productivity.
• Read blueprints, routings, and work instructions to verify specifications.
• Load tooling, fixtures, and machining programs.
• Inspect parts using precision measuring equipment.
• Load and position large forgings using overhead cranes and material handling equipment.
• Identify material types, verify dimensions, and inspect forgings before machining.
• Follow safe work practices and support continuous improvement efforts.
